How does therapy work?

After you make an initial contact, we will have a free, up to 30-minute phone or Zoom call. This is an opportunity for me to gather more details about what brought you into therapy, what expectations you might have, and to assess whether I am the right person to support you. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and learn more about how I work.

There is no obligation to continue therapy after this point, but if you decide to proceed, 50-minute sessions will be held online weekly.

One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. - Abraham Maslow

How many sessions will I need?

In short, there is no single answer, as it depends greatly on various factors. Short-term therapy and counselling focus on addressing a specific goal or difficulty you may be experiencing and provide quick solutions for managing the situation here and now. Long-term, open-ended therapy enables you to address and manage current challenges while exploring their underlying root cause. It does not have a set number of sessions, but we will periodically review and reflect on your progress together to ensure you are receiving the support that you need.

Is therapy confidential?

As a UKCP and NCPS-registered psychotherapist, I adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Professional Practice, which includes full confidentiality. Any personal information collected once we decide to work together is stored securely in accordance with UK data protection laws.

What is the cancellation policy?

I offer therapy online, which allows for more flexibility than traditional face-to-face sessions. Where possible, I recommend meeting weekly at the same time, as this helps create consistency and continuity in our work together.

If you work shifts or have other commitments that make it difficult to keep a fixed slot, we will agree on session times more flexibly — arranging next week's session at the end of the previous session. Flexible sessions arranged this way or rearranged sessions are not subject to the usual cancellation policy and will need to be paid in full.

If you have a regular weekly slot and need to cancel, please give at least 72 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

How much will it cost?

Fees are available on request.
